Jim Morris

   Parish Associate

Reverend Jim Morris attended Waynesburg University earning a BA in History, and McCormick Seminary in Chicago where he earned a Masters in Divinity. His MA is from Princeton Seminary and his D.Min from Drew University. He was ordained in 1958 and was installed at the Amboy Presbyterian Church, Syracuse, New York. Jim also served churches in southwest Pennsylvania; Morristown, New Jersey; and South Dakota. He became Associate Pastor at Basking Ridge Church in 1963 where he supervised the education program, was an advisor to the Senior Society, and was a pastor for the elderly and shut-ins. He was a former moderator of Elizabeth Presbytery and served three terms as Commissioner to General Assembly. He retired from Basking Ridge in 1998. Upon moving to Milford, New Jersey he accepted the position of Parish Associate at Alexandria Church where he served several months as temporary interim pastor. Jim enjoys oil painting, photography, reading, travel, history, art, backpacking, and long distance hiking. Canoeing and kayaking round out his activities. Jim presently resides in Milford, New Jersey. Dottie and Jim have three children Cheri, Keith, and Debra, and nine grandchildren. Jim is a member of New Brunswick Presbytery and has been associated with our congregation as Parish Associate since November 2000.
